Tunnel Town is a strategy and simulation app which features bunnies as characters. It was soft launched in Canada in early 2013 and was launched globally in July 2013. The player has to build a large burrow for the bunnies to live in as they're in a new world. Also the player can buy furniture, grow food, feed bunnies, collect bugs, complete goals, and breed bunnies. Later in 2013, it became a best selling app. You can visit the official site here.
Storyline[]
In a party which looks like Jammers are dating, there are 2 bunnies on a cliff.Suddenly, the female bunny screams and the male bunny realizes that the phantoms were in front of them. He and the other bunnies try to take down the phantoms but the phantoms unleash a portal. The 3 bunnies fell into the portal and then were sucked into a new world.
Gameplay[]
When you first play, you get a desert bunny and Peck guides you on how to start the burrow. Also during the tutorial, you can get a sun bunny for the desert bunny to breed. When you breed the 2 bunnies, you get a cactus bunny. The player can then complete quests to earn stars and gems, also to level up. Gems and stars then can be used to buy furniture, food, and bunnies. There are gems and stars in the store which you can buy with real life money. Players can command bunnies to dig after planning the new room. New layers can be digged as the player levels up. Bugs can be found outside the rooms and can be collected. Also there is a garden which players can buy seeds and grow food. Bunnies are fed if food are dragged to them. Feeding can fill up the energy and also level up them. Also bunnies can be dragged and onto some furniture to work out or rest. If they're dragged onto a large piece of gem, they'll mine them until all the gems are mined. Players can breed 4 leveled bunnies (but some bunnies are unable to breed) by dragging them onto the dance floor, choose what music, and then pay 100 gems. Bunnies are limited in the burrow but the limit can be expanded if the player levels up. The app interacts with time with day-night cycle and seasonal outdoor changes. Players can visit their friends' burrows and can add them with their Game Center or Facebook account. Due to some update, players can screenshot their burrow without using the screenshot system built into the device.
Triva[]
- It has been experienced that the game is boring due to lots of goals featuring buying expensive furniture and breeding bunnies a lot to earn rare bunnies.
- Tunnel Town is the only free Animal Jam app as the second app costs money.
